Lipotransfer: the technique to transform the shape and volume of certain areas of the body

Lipotransfer, or lipofilling, is a cosmetic medical procedure that involves transferring autologous fat (the patient's own fat) from one part of the body to another. This procedure aims to improve the contour, volume, or shape of a localized area of the body using the patient's own fat. The procedure is generally divided into three stages:

1st Stage: Fat Extraction:

Liposuction is performed on areas with excess fat tissue, such as the abdomen, hips, or thighs. The extracted fat is then processed and purified to remove impurities and fluids.

2nd Stage: Fat Preparation:

Once the fat tissue has been purified, it is conditioned for reinjection, ensuring that the fat cells are viable and suitable for use in the recipient area.

3rd Stage: Fat Injection:

The purified fat is carefully infiltrated into the area to be treated, such as the buttocks, breasts, face, or other areas that require increased volume or body contour reshaping.

Lipofilling offers several benefits, as it uses the patient's own tissue, reducing the risk of rejection or allergic reactions. Furthermore, it is a more natural technique compared to artificial implants. Another major advantage of this technique is that it is permanent; the fat remains in the treated area due to the creation of new capillaries that nourish it, resulting in a permanent filler, unlike other fillers that are temporary.

It is important to note that each patient must undergo a prior medical evaluation to determine if they are a suitable candidate for this surgery and to discuss realistic goals and expectations.
