During these days of confinement due to the Coronavirus, we are more sedentary than usual, our pace of life has slowed considerably, and our diet can also be affected by moments of anxiety. Limited physical activity combined with an unhealthy diet can contribute to the appearance of varicose veins.
We share some tips to combat them:
- Avoid staying in the same position for extended periods. If you're working remotely, avoid spending many hours sitting or with your legs crossed. Move your legs, take breaks, and get up at least every hour.
- Maintain a healthy and balanced diet, including foods rich in fiber and Omega 3.
- Limit your intake of salt and saturated fats. Eating a healthy diet also helps you maintain a healthy weight.
- Include a quick routine of leg stretching exercises in your daily life to help stimulate circulation: such as walking on your toes, lying on the bed and/or on the floor with your legs elevated, and simulating pedaling a bicycle.
